New video taken of Dalur at the foal show and stallion introdution. He will be serving mares spring/summer 2010 here at Hólakot and 19 mares has bin sonar tested positive and only one left to check that met him last summer. We are very much looking forward to see his offsprings and are hoping he will pass on his top mind, mowements and colour.

This picture ( first to left ) of Djásn running beside her mother, Kristín in harmony was choozen second best picture at 847.is in competition of best foal picture. And see how long they ran in harmony.

Both Djásn and her mother Kristín are for sale. Djásn is very sweat and friendly, but Kristín is not for everyone to handle/keep. Kristín is pregnant with our promising stallion Dalur . Both Kristín and Djásn might be pure genetic for pinto because of small dots all over their stommach ?

Than next Saturday we will drive down to Akureyri to bring Marra , Dalur , Glaður and Dalmar to a foal show and Marra is automaticly in finals but Glaður and Dalmar will compete again.

Few days ago we got pictures and emails from new buyers of Heljarþröm and Fjögrablaðasmári whom also bought Kofri from us. Heljarþröm went to Germany and Fjögrablaðasmári +Kofri went to same buyers in Swiss. Yesterday was a very busy day. At 8.30 we drove down to Melgerðismelar with our stallion Dalur and few foals, the other ones we drove down there day before. Both of us where organizing this avent and had to be there first  and take care of things + we had done the program and registeration as well the week before. We had two other guyes with us to help and the show went very well and we heard on people they where very happy. 42 mare foals, 24 stallion foals, 6 stallions born 2008 and 2 stallions born 2007 entered the competition.  Of the foals Marra did best and than Glaður but Dalur did far best of all the stallons that entered. We can say that even they where only two that where judged there, he beated the adds because his BLUP is only 95 his mother is untrained and his father has second price, even though he is very good, Randver that is. The other stallion born 2007 and all the others are after 1. price fathers all with higher BLUP and the other one born 2007 has also 1. price mother and he was on shoes on the front when running free, so little help there, but Dalur did not have any shoes on. The judgeds give 9 grades for combination and it is from 1 lowest and up to 5 highest and the same for gaites/running but only for 7 things there. Dalur was not so strong for combination but well above average though but for gaites/running he got everywhere 4 and even 4+ for how he carries his neck and lightness of his mowements. His score was total 74.6 points. Marra came in 3rd place but with same score as the one in the second place with the score 76.4 so I am happy I decided NOT to sell her after I had her for sale for some time to begin with. Glaður is very beatiful palomino stallion foal after my old mare Dúdda and I gave María him same day he was born, his father is Askur from Víðidal we once owned as well. His score was 73 points and highest stallion foal was with total score 76.4.

Here you can see all the finals and the pictures are of Dalur, Marra, Glaður and Dalmar, Dalur fully brother but he did not show all he can but scored though 68.6 and came in 6-8th place. I always love the heart on Dalur stommach.

Next weekend there will be held a foal show in our area and we are both  ( I and Aubbi ) working to prepair it and we will also give the medals. Many people have mailed and called to enter their foal/s so exiting. Yesterday Susanne that bought Vænting from us and got her pregnant with Hófur home last Faull,  who also bought Silfurtoppur through us from our friend and we kept them both here for long time and halter trained them + tought few basics before leaving, send us pictures yesterday + here third horse as well. I wrote her back and asked if I could put the pictures out on my page, and than she wrote to me saying:

Long time ago we sold the mare Frigg to Anna in Sweden and she mailed us this morning and send us few pictures as well. This is what she wrote :

" Frigg is the perfect horse and we love her so very much. "

These pictures Marlene send us but she bought Lilla from us in December.

And than she wrote:

....as you said, she is very soft on the rains and really not lazy. but very nice and easy to ride, if she understands what she should do, in the beginning we had some misunderstandings..and her gaits are ok too. i tried walk trott and tölt. trott and tölt are both ok and they are both very easy for her. specially i'm very pleased(and surprised) with the tölt, it's not special or with a great action, but easy, soft and smooth and her favourite speed is ok too. just fun..

sure she has to learn a lot of things, but we are very, very happy with the decission to buy her. i never wanted a horse from iceland, because i thouht it would be a great effort for me and the horse. you and lilla showed me the opposite. the contact was very nice and you have allways been correct with the things you said and answered every question. and i was absolutely uncomplicated for me with you managing the export. there was no difference in effort, than it has been if i buyed a horse from austria or germany.

the journey was no prolem at all for lilla, when she arrived she started eating immediatly, wasn't stressed or afraid and from the begining she wasn't shy, but very friendly.
i know it depends on the horse, but lilla came since the first time, running to us if she saw us entering the paddock(as you can see on the foto) that shows me that she has allways made good experiences with people and that you make everyhing the right way with training horses.

lilla likes it to be in the center and is very friendly, but never without respect.
my son and she can play, she follows him everywhere even if he runs, but i don't have to be frightened ever, because she never comes to close, even not a fast stops and urns.

we were looking for a second horse, a family member, that should be nice and friendly with easy gaits and could be ridden by my son in some time. but it should also be a horse for addult riders and not a typical (boring) just-for-beinners-horse.

this all is lilla and she also is a very intelligent horse, a little clown with new ideas all the time, that makes us lauh very often. she really has a very special charakter and everyone that sees her, says how cute and special she is. we are allready completly falling in love with her and she is a kind of soulmate for my son.

we didn't just bought a horse, we have made the jackpot.

On these 3 pictures you can see the snow and how we feed the horses outside, everyone gets because we spread it arround.

These pictures Charlotte took of the 4 stallion foals Spaði, Hreimur, Kalsi and Hrókur that we sold to Lone in Denmark, Fanö. They seam to be happy and well taken care of. Today we took all horses  and put them at fields here home and fed them but either tomorrow or over the weekend we will seperate them into special groups. It is freezing outside now and it was -10.5 today so brrrrrrrrrr VERY cold.
