These pictures Charlotte took of the 4 stallion foals Spaði, Hreimur, Kalsi and Hrókur that we sold to Lone in Denmark, Fanö. They seam to be happy and well taken care of. Today we took all horses  and put them at fields here home and fed them but either tomorrow or over the weekend we will seperate them into special groups. It is freezing outside now and it was -10.5 today so brrrrrrrrrr VERY cold.

Artickle
miðvikudagur, 09 desember 2009

As you may know many horses have bin sold from us these last few days and weeks.  One woman Lone , Fanö Denmark bought a horse named Dreki ca. 1 year ago and not so long ago she bought four stallion foals from us. She was asked to write an artickle in a magazine "icehorse" , about buying horses from Iceland. www.dreki.dk is the local horseclub link.

Charlotte also Fanö in Denmark a good friend of us translated it over to English and this is what she wrote in her artickle :

"One morning having coffee with my husband I looked on Joras, in the foals for sale section- we already own two stallionfoals after Stefnir. I casualy asked my husband allmost for fun if I could buy two playmates for them. "You just do that", he said and I went ahead. As some of you may know I have bought a gelding from Hólakot, Iceland not that long ago and I felt very good about the way I was treated as a customer. I "found" three very sweet stallions on their website, all around 6 months old: Kalsi, Spaði and Hreimur, it was too hard to choose so I bought all of them.
Finally the day came to pick them up at the airport. We were very exited. You never know exactly what you get- you have to trust the salesmen, no garantees and no possibility to return........... Then we were the next ones to have our horses handed over. All three in one box, it was love at first sight, so beautiful, longcoated icehorses- I allmost melted!
The next morning I turned them out in the field and was definately not disappointed, lots of tølt, trot and canter- lucky lucky lucky :D. I have been totaly satisfied with my purchases at Hólakot, it has been easy and they helped me pick out the right horses for me, and everything they told me was just so. they have been very sweet and helpful, taken care of transport etc. which of course costs extra.
In the end I bought a fourth one- Hrókur, another foal with a very nice pedigree- he he, he will be the last one. Now we own eleven horses............. I remembered the lady who told me that icelandic horses grow in numbers on you like Dandelions in a garden, first one, then two and in my case soon eleven. If you want to have a look at the foals go to www.holakot.net and look under sold horses. But be carefull! You might end up at Billund airport very soon! ;)
