Today we drove to Dalvík and there I was born and raised  and it is ca. 80km away from Hólakot. We took Harpa from Selnes and Kofri from Galtanes to a breeding show there to have them judged for comfirmation. We are satisfied with the outcome and I will put there judgement at their catagory.

Second foal born today around 11.30 Mother Gola ( Anna Kristín mare ) father Randver. Color black with big star and of course it is a mare. Pictures taken of the birth itselfs and after. I called to the playschool where Anna is staying today and told her the news and her smile was all over the face said the nannys.

This morning a new pinto mare foal was born and we where not exspecting Perla to be next. Of course it is Auðbjörns foal and he was lucky again. He named her Erla and father is Randver and Perla. These pictures are fresh and so is she. I also took pictures of the youngsters outside yesterday evening and I will put them out on my page soon.

Today the weather was very good or 18+ and sun . We drove to Akureyri to watch a competition and there we saw Moli from Skriðu, looking good as always, and many other horses very good as well. Branda had her kittens last night and they where 4 ( as last summer ) so for that we are thankful, that is that they where not more of them. We are not exspecting foal until later in this month and than maybe 3-4 or more, but there was though born this bautiful mare foal after Randver in the east of Iceland.

Undrun IS 2008264008 from Hólakot. Mother Grása, father Askur, color buckskin. born arround 04.00 10th of May. Pictures taken between 04.30-05.30 and again between 11.00-11.30.

It is very early now when I am writing this, 06.06 on my computer and I am going to bed now trying to get some more sleep !? I woke up at 04.30 and looked at the mares and Grása had given birth and because this is her first foal and snow covered all over we took her inside where Ör and Tígull are staying and put a blanket on her and feed her with hey and water and some minirals as well. I was lucky with this foal, buckskin mare foal after my Askur  I think I will name her Undrun( meaning, surprised ) because I was so sure I would get a stallion foal from her. Pictures will come up later today or tonight, because we are exspecting our shoing guy and than we have this " fermingarveisla" we need to go to. I took pictures of her new born and just standing up and I will take again later.

NEW MARE FOR SALE, KRISTÍN, TAKE A LOOK ?

For all of you people out there that visit our webpage, this is how the weather is here in Eyjafjörður the 9th of May 2008 at 21.30 On Iceland we can exspect everything when it comes to the weather ! They are exspecting over 20 degrees + on Monday and Tuesday and now it is -1.5 degrees. I took these pictures just now and I had to take one mare inside, Ör, and her foal Tígull, because Ör was shaking a lot. Early Sunday morning we will drive down south to take Næla back from Siggi Sig and bring Gusa and Rut to him. We are also going to take both Kofri and Harpa to a breeding show next week to have them judged for combination. Rut, Sveifla and Gusa we also registered to a breeding show down south or at Hella and Siggi will show them.

Well usually I am happy when I am right, but this time I am happy that I was wrong, because it is a MARE, jibby, and her name is Vaka from Hólakot. What is funny is that yesterday I said to my husband that we needed a blue dun mare for our breeding and we just needed that color as well because we dont have any with that color and we have 5 red dun mares,( that color is related to blue dun ) so I would say that we are very lucky to have than the next day mare foal after one of our favorite mare and of course our favorite stallion as well Randver.
