On Sunday when we let 14 horses up to the mountain 3 disappeared almost instantly. We looked at them few hours after and no luck and also at the evening and than we drove very far to look but no luck. Than the day after our neighbour told us that he saw them at the farm that is in the end of the valley but we didnt have the time to look for them than so we went yesterday and we took 3 riding horses and put them into a trailer and drove off. Of course the horses where not at the farm anymore and we couldnt see them either. So we drove further and further in the valley and just as we where giving up ( and not so good to take the trailer on these mountain rodes ) I saw them quite high up from where we where and as soon as they saw us they started to climb and almost run up the steamy mountain. So Auðbjörn and the girls Hilde and María rushed to saddle up their horses and Auðbjörn rode up the mountain trying to get in front of them before we would loose them for good or at least far, far away. He almost managed to get in front of them but his horse ( or my horse ) Hátíð gave up and he just jumped off her and left her there and ran in front of the horses and Hátíð just stood their waiting for him to come back. Thank god they came down now and headed back down the valley. We managed to bring them into a fence at the last farm at the valley and their we put them into the trailer and drove them home. We left the riding horses in the fence and rode back with all he other horses to pick them up and keep the other in training, but that didnt go so well at all. When they crossed the river ( to shorten their way a bit ) Auðbjörns horse fell because it was so much water and the river was so strong it just sweeped the feet from under him and they both fell into the river and straggled back to shore on the other side though and barly. I dont know what would have happened if Auðbjörn didnt hang on to his horse and he dragged him to shore ? I drove home and brought him a whole new set of clothes to were. Than everything was fine after this. Than today we had to go further down the valley than where we live to pick up 14 of our horses on this farm because he hadnt fixed the mountain fence so they came down. That all went well and we let 2 of the horses we brought yesterday out again with this group in the mountain again, but they ran as far as we could see them but they are though alright and going the right way.
